Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy practitioners are skilled professionals whose education includes the study of child development. They provide a treatment approach with specific emphasis on fine motor, visual motor, visual perceptual, gross motor, ADLs/IADLs, feeding, and sensory components of a child’s skills. The Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) measures the sensory processing or perception that is related to academic achievement, language development, and social behavior in children. Our staff includes OTs who are S.I.P.T. certified.

Therapy may include:

  • Customized treatment programs to improve a child’s ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Adaptive equipment recommendations and usage training
  • Guidance to caregivers on how to integrate therapeutic activities into the child’s daily routine
  • Sensory integration activities
  • Interactive metronome activities
  • Feeding therapy
