Our speech-language pathologists are nationally certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and are trained to assess and treat delays and disorders in speech (articulation), language, social skills, oral motor skills, and feeding/swallowing. The nature of the treatment will vary based on a child’s age and individual needs.
For very young children with delays in language and communication, a play-based approach may be chosen which specifically targets developmentally appropriate concepts and vocabulary.
For older children with grammatical or specific needs in sound production, a more structured hierarchal approach may be selected which involves drill and practice of specific grammatical structures/sounds. Even in this more structured environment, our speech-language pathologists will demonstrate their experience with children by making learning fun and interactive.
